Rain, rain, go away ...

Rain yesterday, rain today, rain tomorrow. And it’s looking like Hurricane Ike will be pulling into town some time this weekend. Certainly much diminished by then (and I absolutely do not mean to make light of the storm or the travails of anybody in its immediate path, past, present, or future) — but still bringing a lot of rain. Well, I suppose we need it; we’ve been suffering through drought conditions here in North Texas all year. And at least, Mother Nature will be helping me water my lawn instead of the City of Dallas. I try to see the silver lining in any major catastrophe, you see.

But it means wiping my dogs’ feet constantly. Come on! *sigh* :)

Yes, I, too, *hate* wiping our dog's paws. One, they're filthy each time (avg: 6x daily). Two, they make it so damn difficult. Just imagine if it was a cat. That cat would look at the rain, look at you like you were "short" (miss ya, Bernie Mac!), say 'hell to the no!', step not one foot outside and then pee all over the house just in protest. (This is taking into consideration that there are no litter boxes or there are and cats are just spiteful.)

  2. Imagine if you had a pet snake and had to let it out to slither through the mud to go to the bathroom! Or a koala, or a three-toed sloth, or a velociraptor. Can you imagine trying to dig the mud out of those claws without getting eviscerated?! ;)

If Bernie Mac were telling our boys to go outside to potty, I bet he’d be able to get ’em to go quickly: by threatening to bust ’em in the head ’til the white meat shows!

  3. Your illustration makes it look like Texas lies in the swath of a "Hurricane Jason".

  4. Hahae, that might be another way of looking at it, N.E.B. Actually, I put my picture there just for you — since you alerted me to the fact that I apparently plaster my picture everywhere I go. I’m gratified you took the bait. “Mouse trap!!” ;)

  5. Nice usage of The Weather Channel graphics. Because I like you and Jennifer and because you're plagarism is flattering to me, I won't report you to our legal department. If I had a Weather Channel T-Shirt to give out, I'd give you two! In the meantime, I'll have to see what other schwag we have in the office to send you. Keep up the good work! - Greg Heanue (a proud employee of The Weather Channel)
